At the Track

2021 - ongoing

At the Track is an ongoing photographic project studying an area of reclaimed land in the North-Eastern point of Morecambe Bay. The land was reclaimed by depositing waste blast furnace and steel slag from a nearby ironworks, starting in 1865, and continuing until its closure in 1929.

An increasing portion of this waste slag is beginning to crack and collapse at an accelerating rate, resulting in visual and topographic changes, as well as changes to human interaction with the space. The images (2020 – today) are a representation of the transitional nature of this landscape.
